FamilyStory is an ambitious programme of work to re-design how technology can better support Children’s Services. We want to place families and young people at the centre of their case or story to build a network of people, carers, caseworkers and service providers around them.

The Family Story Discovery Project is undertaking to look at the case recording systems across London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster City Council.

To do this we have engaged FutureGov, a digital design company to work with people directly on the frontline to understand what it really means to work within Children’s Services. Their aim is to understand what it would take to rebuild the information technology systems that we use to take care of children, young people and families.

We’re right at the beginning of this journey to discover how new technology could better support social care services and the families we work with across all three boroughs.

Isabelle Trowler, Chief Social Worker for England, tweeted the following in Dec:
“V exciting developments in SW recording re: @educationgovuk Partners in Practice, Triborough & @FutureGov. I think we might crack this yet!”
